Countdown to the launch of IFSEC West Africa has begun

IFSEC West Africa is brand new, exclusive event for security practitioners in West Africa, and will be held from 15-16 February 2011 at the Eko Expo Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.

With only three months to go until the show opens its doors, the IFSEC West Africa event will be the first event of its kind to ever take place in the West African region, and will offer security professionals a unique opportunity to view, source and purchase the very latest security services, products and innovations from around the world, while networking with industry peers and having the opportunity to attend a two-day conference.

The list of exhibitors confirmed for IFSEC West Africa comprises a list of high-profile companies, including: Bosch Security Systems, Axis Communications, Gunnebo, UTC Fire & Security, System Sensor and many more.

“With security high on the political agenda, the West African security market is estimated to be worth in excess of £1bn."This is according to Grant Mills, Managing Director of Montgomery Africa.

IFSEC West Africa is the latest addition to the IFSEC international brand and is a joint venture between UBM Live, organiser of the world’s largest security event, the annual IFSEC show in Birmingham, UK and Montgomery Worldwide, organiser of African events including Electra Mining and Interbuild. Montgomery Africa is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Montgomery Worldwide.

This brand new event is to be held in a superb venue, the Eko Expo Centre, which forms part of the Eko Hotel and Suites on the Victoria Island, one of the most prestigious hotels located in Lagos Nigeria. The Expo Centre, having recently undergone a multi-million redevelopment, is an enormous new multipurpose conference, banquet and exhibition centre with a gross floor space of 5,750m2.

Running alongside the IFSEC West Africa exhibition will be the IFSEC West Africa Conference, entitled: Security Strategies and Solutions for Corporate, Personal and Asset Protection. With security risks across West Africa at an all time high, this inaugural two-day conference will feature high level international speakers from key industry sectors, and tackle some of the greatest challenges facing security and business professionals today.

The agenda is currently being developed around the following core themes:
• Government strategies for national security
• Urban surveillance – strategies and solutions
• Public and private sector partnerships
• Kidnapping and ransom
• Personal safety
• Asset/property protection
• Technology innovations
• IP based technology solutions

“This show is a fantastic opportunity for both local and international companies to meet key decision makers from across the region and discover more about the fantastic opportunity to gain a foothold in this rapidly developing market," concluded Mills.
